Traditionally used in folk medicine to treat various condition like cough, inflammation, wounds, tuberculosis, hepatic obstruction, diabetic, fever, snake bite, anemia, toothache and lungs ailments. The plant contains chemical constituents like flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, protein, amino acids and phenolic compounds and pharmacological activities are antioxidant, hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-diabetic, anti- fungal, anticancer and thrombolytic properties were also studied.
